The Star Theatre concert guide: getting there, cloakroom and photo rules

The Star Theatre is a large theatre inside The Star Performing Arts Centre at The Star Vista, Buona Vista. It's much smaller than the stadiums, which makes it easy to get to, but its photo rules are stricter, so read this before you go.
Getting there
- Buona Vista MRT (East-West and Circle lines): use Exit A or C. The Star is about a 5-minute walk along a sheltered walkway.
- one-north MRT (Circle Line) is one stop away from Buona Vista if you're coming from that direction.
- Driving: there are more than 800 car park lots in the complex, entered from Vista Exchange Green or Rochester Drive. Nearby options when it's full include Rochester Mall, The Metropolis and Biopolis. Public transport is still easier on show nights.
- Accessibility: accessible parking is next to Lift Lobby A and B at levels B2 to B4. Wheelchair seats are marked "W" on the seating plan.
Cloakroom, food and drink
- A free cloakroom is open for all publicly ticketed shows, at the Grand Foyer on Level 5.
- Outside food and drinks aren't allowed. Food and drinks bought at the theatre bars can only be consumed in the foyers, not in the auditorium.
- Binoculars may be allowed, depending on the event.
Photos and video: check before you film
The Star's own FAQ is clear: photography and videography are not allowed in the auditorium, unless the event organiser says otherwise. Cameras with detachable lenses must be left at the cloakroom.
Fans have reported phone photos being allowed at some past concerts here, but only because the organiser allowed it for that show. Before you film:
- Read your event page and ticket email for the photo and video policy.
- Listen for the announcement before the show starts.
- If it says no recording, that includes phones.
Leaving after the show
The Star is much easier to leave than the stadiums. Buona Vista is a short covered walk away, and the East-West and Circle lines both run from there. If the platform is busy, grabbing a bite at The Star Vista mall downstairs for a few minutes lets the crowd clear.
